Acheron River Kayaking Experience
Overview
Kayak the calm upper Acheron through cool springs and plane-tree shade — ideal for all levels.
What you'll do
A day shaped around the place — not a checklist.
Meet your local guide
Pickup from your hotel or our Preveza office. Coffee, introductions, and a quick rundown of the day ahead — no scripts, no clipboards.
Into the experience
You're with people who grew up here. Stops are paced for slowness, conversation, and the kind of photo you'll actually print.
A long lunch (where it fits)
Most full days include a stop at a taverna we know personally. Local fish, garden vegetables, wine from a small Epirote producer.
Back unhurried
Return at the pace of the day — never the clock. Time for one more swim, one more viewpoint, one more story.
Who it's for
Travellers who want depth, not a checklist.
Perfect for
- Couples and small groups who'd rather skip the crowd
- Families with curious kids (most ages — ask us)
- Photographers and slow travellers
- Anyone who wants to meet locals, not just see them
Maybe not for
- Bucket-list ticking — we travel at human pace
- Mobility-limited guests on boat days (ask first)
- Hen / stag parties or large noisy groups
What to bring

FAQs
Asked often.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before. Within 48 hours we charge 50%; same-day no-shows are non-refundable. Weather cancellations are always our call and 100% refundable or reschedulable.
Is this suitable for children?
Most of our experiences welcome children 6+. Boat days require swimmers (we provide life jackets). Tell us their ages when you book and we'll confirm fit.
What if the weather turns?
Greek summers are stable but the Ionian can stir up. We make the call by 7am the morning of, in your favour. Always a full refund or free reschedule.
How small are "small groups"?
Boat days: 8 guests max on the small day-cruisers, 12 on the bigger Forgotten Islands boat. Land tours: usually 6, never more than 10.
Do I tip?
Not expected, always appreciated. If you do, give it directly to your guide — they pass it along to anyone else who helped (taverna staff, boat crew).
